The Vision

Alpha Esquires is a youth mentoring and leadership development group designed for middle and high school age young men of color. It will serve applicants in the Greater Toledo area and promote leadership, communication skills, social awareness, community involvement, and other areas of personal growth. Upon completion of the program, Esquires will be better prepared to meet the challenges of college, their future professions, and life in general. This program is sponsored by the Alpha Xi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Although the program is new to Toledo, other Alpha Esquire programs in Cleveland, Cincinnati, Columbus, Detroit, and other cities in the Midwest and the United States have been around for more than a decade. The program will initially serve 6th-9th graders and expand through 12th grade.
